Durham College (DC) opened officially for studies in 1967, offering courses in applied arts, business and technology. The college’s various academic faculties, from Business and Health Sciences to Trades & Apprenticeship and Social and Community Services, offer programs that are market-driven and led by industry experts. Over the years, DC has offered students increased opportunities to access unique educational pathways. The college has had strong partnerships with York and Trent universities for a number of years now. With the addition in 2003 of the University of Ontario, Institute of Technology (UOIT), DC students now have access to new academic options, such as bridging programs, and students in some specific programs can move to university. Durham College’s campuses in Oshawa and Whitby offer a combination of country and city living, with access to a variety of shopping, sport and entertainment.
