Wilfrid Laurier International College (WLIC) extends a warm invitation to international students seeking to embark on their bachelor's degree journey smoothly. WLIC offers a comprehensive program with two different programs depending on the students level and need either foundation or UTP Stage II, equivalent to the 1st year of a bachelor's degree.
Upon successful completion of UTPII, students seamlessly transition into the 2nd year of their bachelor's degree at Laurier. WLIC facilitates transition to over 70 programs across five faculties: Business and Economics, Human and Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, Science, and Arts.

WLIC offers flexible intakes in September, January, and May, providing students with multiple entry points and the option to commence their studies online through a Hyflex option before arriving on campus.
As part of a new initiative, WLIC is offering an automatic CAD 4,000 scholarship for May and September 2024 intakes. No academic requirements or interviews are necessary. Students only need to accept their offer before the deadline. Additionally, all students who apply before this date are guaranteed a place in student residence accommodation, ensuring a smooth transition into college life.
Laurier’s employment rate for international students is 94.5 percent compared to average rate of 85 percent in Canada. Most programs offer paid coops, so students have amazing exposure to their industry fields and have opportunity to get work experience during their degree. Also, WLU’s job fairs are the largest in Canada and happen on campus twice a year.

All students who attend Wilfrid Laurier International College must pay , which start at CAD 26,142 for the foundation program for the academic year 2024/25, which is made up of 8 separate courses. Additional support fees might also apply, and there are other compulsory fees that students need to be aware of, including student services fees and medical insurance fees which must be paid each term. UTP II fees start at CAD 32,303.
Students are also advised to budget CAD 70 to CAD 150 per course to pay for books and other essential supplies.
An automatic scholarship is now being offered to all students for May and September 2024 intakes. The scholarship is worth CAD 4,000, and there are no academic requirements involved, nor do students need to interview for it. As long as students apply and then accept an offer before the deadline, they are eligible.
There are other scholarships available for current students too, which celebrate academic, social and community success.
The entry requirements for study at Wilfrid Laurier International College vary depending on students’ native country, whether they are applying for the UTP1 Foundation program or one of the UTP Stage 2 programs.
For UTP1, students must have an International Baccalaureate qualification of at least 18 points, or at least three D grades if studying at A Level. Equivalent qualifications from other countries are also acceptable, with a full list to view on .
At UTP Stage 2 Level, the requirements vary slightly depending on whether students are applying for an arts, liberal arts, or human & social sciences qualification, or a business and economics or science qualification.
Generally, students will need to have an equivalent to 22 IB points, or successful completion of Grade 12 in Canada with a 65 percent average in four subjects. For studies in business and economics or science, a mathematics qualification will be required. Students without math, can still apply. They will be asked to take math as an additional subject during their program.
