This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of mobile plant machinery in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.
Students will develop their skills that are in demand through practical and hands-on work in a simulated workplace environment. They will have the opportunity to learn how to diagnose faults and carry out repairs to a range of mobile plant equipment.
Students will learn about:
Workplace safety in an automotive workplace
Identifying automotive faults
Servicing operations
Diagnostic procedures
Using and maintaining tools
Diagnosing and repairing various mobile plant equipment – steering, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, fuel injection, engines, emission control systems.
