Collarts' Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (Creative Arts) arms you with the knowledge, skills, and experience you need to excel in teaching, learning, and assessment within tertiary education.

The course has been designed to give anyone who is currently teaching or supporting students in a higher education setting a strong foundation for their practice, a ready-made network of creative teachers and a postgraduate qualification (AQF8) in education.

An in-depth look at the art of written and visual storytelling.

Telling stories in an engaging and memorable way is an art. Our Bachelor of Performing Arts (Writing & Directing) course is designed to help you master it.

Throughout the degree, you will:

Gain an in-depth understanding of playwriting, directing, and the performing arts.

Develop the skills and knowledge to work across a range of performing arts contexts.

Evaluate theoretical concepts, technical processes, and creative and cultural ideas.

Exercise critical thinking and judgement with a global outlook to identify problems and find solutions in the planning, production and realisation of performing arts works.

Adapt knowledge and skills in writing and directing through creativity, innovation and critical inquiry.

Get real-life experience through industry placements.

Collaborate on industry projects with students from other courses.

Study on-campus with access to all of Collarts campus facilities.

Entry requirements

For international students

International students must meet the following criteria:

Applicants must be at least 18 years old at course commencement.
Successful completion of a senior secondary school certificate equivalent to Australian Year 12.

English language requirements

Our English requirement is an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent (with no single band score below 6.0) for all the courses, except Entertainment Journalism, where students are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with no single band score below 6.0).

Applicants may also provide the following as evidence of their English proficiency:

Results of English subjects in a range of countries secondary school certificate, A Level or the International Baccalaureate.
Successful completion of an English course at any of our pathway providers.
