What will I learn?

The Graduate Certificate of Specialist Education is focused on developing knowledge and skills in a specialist field of education with options of:Digital Learning Futures,Inclusive Education,Indigenous Knowledges Education,International Education,Managing and Leading Education, orTeaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).This course aims to meet the professional development needs of teachers, practitioners, policymakers and principals working in the Northern Territory, Australia and the Asia Pacific. You are encouraged to undertake specialist studies that meet personal, organisational, workplace and community interests.You will enhance your analytical thinking, collaborative learning and transformative practice in localised, national and/or international settings. You will also enhance your work experience by applying professional knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course to practical contexts and settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, master s degree or equivalent international qualification in a relevant field.

Consideration will also be given to those who do not have one of the above qualifications, but who have at least five years relevant professional experience, for example in tertiary education, adult education, learning design or digital technology training. Applicants must provide further documentation in the form of a curriculum vitae (CV) with their application.

English requirements

CDU English for Academic Purposes 4 (ZEAP40): Successful completion of EAP004 English for Academic Purposes 4; IELTS Academic Module: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): A minimum overall score of 176, with no skill below 169; Common European Framework Certificate of English Proficiency: A minimum overall grade of C1, valid for three years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module: A minimum overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 21.
