What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma of Indigenous Policy Development, will build on your professional knowledge and experiences by providing you with a critical understanding of important aspects of Indigenous economic and policy development in modern Australia.You will examine key issues of Indigenous policy development and implementation, economic development and participation, traditional and modern governance structures, and intellectual and cultural property rights in current social and political contexts.This course is an essential foundation for respectful and accountable engagement with Indigenous people and the current social and political issues they face in Australia and internationally.This is an important course, if you want to develop your knowledge and understanding of:the workings of government and policythe structures and functions of governance in relation to Indigenous peoplethe practice of cultural engagement with and between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoplethe culture and language of Yolngu people.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission criteria

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, masters degree or equivalent international qualification.

English language requirements:

  • IELTS Academic Module: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): A minimum overall score of 176, with no skill below 169.
  • Common European Framework Certificate of English Proficiency: A minimum overall grade of C1, valid for three years from the date of the test to the date of commencement at CDU.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic module: A minimum overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50.
  • TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 21.
