What will I learn?

This course introduces participants to theory as well as national and international educational practices that can be linked with their own experiences and, through dialogue and the sharing of ideas, enhance their knowledge and skills. It also provides participants with comprehensive preparation in conceptualising, conducting and reporting research in education.The course delivery arrangements are flexible and are particularly aligned with the needs of people in full time careers in the professions or management. Participants are encouraged to pursue coursework and research in their own particular areas of interest.

Entry requirements

For international students

Must have—the requirements set out in (a), (b) or (c) which follow or the equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or the requirements set out in (d) or (e): (a)(i) a bachelor's degree of this University; and (ii) completed a postgraduate course in education requiring at least one year of full-time study; and (iii) either two years' full-time relevant professional experience or adequate research preparation demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Graduate School of Education or (b)(i) the Bachelor of Education of this University; and (ii) either two years' full-time relevant professional experience or adequate research preparation demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Graduate School of Education; or (c)(i) a degree requiring at least four years of full-time study; and (ii) two years' full-time professional experience in the field of education; and (iii) adequate research preparation demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Graduate School of Education; or (d) a graduate diploma of this University that articulates with the Master of Education with an average of at least 65% in four coursework units including a mark of at least 65% in EDUC5631 Educational Research Design; or (e)(i) completed at least four units towards a graduate diploma that articulates with the Master of Education; and (ii) completed units relevant to the requirements of the master's course and; (iii) achieved an average mark of at least 65% in four coursework units including a mark of at least 65% in EDUC5631 Educational Research Design.

English language requirements:

TOEFL (paper-based): 570 with a Test of Written English (TWE) of no less than 4.5

IBT TOEFL (Internet-based test score): 82 with 22 for writing, 20 for speaking, 20 for listening, and 18 for reading

IELTS (Academic): overall score of at least 7.5 and no band less than 6.5
