What will I learn?

Graduate job-ready with the skills and knowledge to work as both an occupational health and safety professional, and a specialist occupational hygienist.Designed for science, engineering and health science graduates, this dual master-level qualification will prepare you for a broad range of roles related to the management of the health and safety of workers in any industry.It will equip you with comprehensive knowledge and skills to identify and manage the full range of hazards that present in the workplace, from traumatic accidents to longer-term health hazards like cancer and psychological harm.In your 2 years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) study, youll complete 14 courses and get extensive industry exposure, including a 240-hour industry placement and a specific occupational hygiene research project. The program will extend your independence as a researcher and help refine your work-ready skills in both discipline areas.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for entry, you'll need:

a bachelor's degree in a science, engineering or health sciences, with two or more first-year, university-level science courses that cover human anatomy, human physiology, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and/or physics.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.

English language requirements

IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.

TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5.

Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
