What will I learn?

The program was designed in consultation with leading organisations in the material science and engineering industry including Andromeda, Minotaur, Zinc oxide Australia (ZOA), SABIC (Saudi Arabia), Keliqiang Pte Ltd (China), and Baosteel (China). With a focus on the fast-growing field of advanced nanomaterials, youll learn how the processing of a material influences its structure, properties and performance. Graduate with the knowledge, skills, and industry connections needed to address key challenges in fields like education, vehicles, cosmetics, medicine, pharmacy, petroleum, steel, electronics, information technology, energy and environmental technologies, forensic engineering, and space science.

Entry requirements

For international students

An applicant for admission to candidature for a Doctoral Degree (Research) shall:

i) have satisfied all of the requirements for admission to the degree of Bachelor with Honours Class 1 or Honours Class II, Division 1 or any other degree approved for this purpose by the Assistant Dean (Research Training); or

ii) have satisfied all of the requirements for admission to the degree of Bachelor in the University or any other degree approved for this purpose by the Assistant Dean (Research Training), and have achieved by subsequent work and study a standard recognized by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) as equivalent to at least Honours Class II, Division 1; or

iii) in exceptional cases submit evidence of possessing such other academic or professional qualifications and/or experience as may be approved by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) on the recommendation of the relevant School; or

iv) in the disciplines of education, medical physics, nursing, social work, social sciences and surgery have completed a minimum standard of professional experience as required by the Assistant Dean (Research Training) on the recommendation of the School; An Australian honours degree with Class 1 or Class 2 division 1. For international students, a four-year bachelors degree including a significant research training component attained at a high standard, is commonly considered equivalent to an Australian honours degree.

TOEFL paper-based test score of 550; TOEFL internet based score of 79; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5; PTE GSE score of 58; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 58.
