What will I learn?

The University of Newcastle College of International Education Pre-Masters Program offers a direct pathway for international students wishing to study a range of Masters degrees at the University of Newcastle. Successful completion of the program provides students with 30 credit points towards various postgraduate degrees.CIEs specialised Pre-Masters Program (2 trimesters) and Pre-Masters Program Accelerated (1 trimester) are both credit-bearing programs where students gain 30 credit points towards their chosen Masters degree at the University of Newcastle. As well as getting an introduction to your chosen speciality, you will undertake English language tuition, and develop your study skills, problem solving and communications skills, Successful completion of a Pre-Masters Program and Pre-Masters Program accelerated allows students to progress into the second trimester of their chosen Masters degree, without the need to provide any additional test results (e.g. IELTS) when transitioning to the University.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country.

2 year Diploma (AQF5 equivalent) plus 1 years relevant organisational experience, or 3 year undergraduate qualification

English Requirement

  • IELTS - 5.5 overall (all bands 5.0 or above) or equivalent
  • iBT TOEFL - 50 overall (15 or above in Speaking and Writing)
  • PTE Academic – 46
  • KITE - Main flight score of 400, speaking and writing score min 400 each
  • HKDSE - Level 2
  • STPM - Literature (920) with a min score of C
