What will I learn?

Biology is the study of life. At UNB Saint John, Arts students can major in Biology, studying botany, ecology, zoology, organic chemistry and microbiology.

You will be able to explore the world of environmental science, sustainable development and public policies towards land and water use.

What you'll learn

In your first year you will take introductory studies in organic chemistry, ecology cells and organisms and biology lab work.

In second year you will add botany, microbiology, zoology and statistics to your course work and at the end of the year you may apply to major in Biology.

Upper-level studies in Biology may include conservation biology, environmental law and animal behavior.

Your biology degree will teach you to analyze how living things work and interact with other organisms. You will learn to think critically and solve problems through observation and evaluation.

Entry requirements

For international students

High school students applying to undergraduate programs at the University of New Brunswick must meet the following three sets of requirements in order to be considered for admission.

The University of New Brunswick accepts qualified applicants from all countries. Entry requirements may vary from country to country.

English language proficiency requirements:

TOEFL IBT with a minimum overall score of 85
IELTS or IELTS Indicator with a minimum overall score of 6.5
CAEL CE or CAEL Online with a minimum overall score of 60
Pearson Vue Test with a minimum score of 59
Cambridge English Assessment C1 advanced or C2 proficiency with a minimum score of 176
Duolingo with a minimum overall score of 115
