Part of the prestigious School of Graduate Studies at Trent University, the Financial Analytics M.Sc. is a new stream in the program of Applied Modelling and Quantitative Methods.

The Financial Analytics Stream is a Master鈥檚 of Science degree focusing on the theories and techniques of financial analysis. A professional program of 16 months or less in length, this exciting new stream prepares graduates for dynamic careers in the growing and evolving financial sector through in-depth study of:

Entry requirements

For international students

B.A. or B.Sc. honours degree (a four year undergraduate bachelor's degree) in one of the traditional disciplines: Anthropology, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computing & Information Systems, Economics, Geography, Humanities, Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy, Philosophy, or Psychology
Minimum B+ (77%) or equivalent in the work of the last four semesters or the last two undergraduate years (last ten full credits)
A university course in differential and integral calculus, and one in probability and statistics or the equivalent
Some familiarity with linear algebra, and be capable of programming at an elementary level in at least one computational language
A course in either differential equations or advanced statistics is required, depending on whether the student鈥檚 area of research will be mathematics or statistics based

The following tests are acceptable forms of proof of English language proficiency:

TOEFL iBT, iBT Home Edition, iBT Paper Edition (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The minimum acceptance score is 93 (with a minimum score of 22 in both speaking and writing).
CAEL or CAEL online (Canadian Academic English Language Test). The minimum acceptable score is 60, with at least 60 in Writing Proficiency.
Successful completion of Trent University 鈥� ESL Academic English 1 and 2 - must be completed prior to beginning Graduate Studies
IELTS Academic (International English language Testing Services). The minimum acceptance score is 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
