What will I learn?

This diploma programme aims to equip students with a fundamental understanding of early childhood education. It is designed to produce early childhood educators with the relevant and up-to-date knowledge and competencies in child psychology, cognitive development, early childhood curriculum and assessment, children with special needs, digital technology in early childhood education, health and safety, school, family and community partnership and early childhood programme administration and management. Early childhood education simulation room, and creative art and play therapy room are among the facilities available in our campus to support students’ learning. Upon graduation, students can progress to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours), at Year 2 entry level, if they wish to obtain a degree in early childhood education.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Malaysian high school (i.e. SPM); O Level/IGCSE with minimum 3 Grade C(c) in the relevant subjects or other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

International students must meet any one of the following English Language tests recognized by TAR UC as meeting the English Language requirement before they are accepted for admission to any of the TAR UC programmes.

IELTS (Academic): Band 4.0

TOEFL iBT: 31

MUET: Band 3.0

Pearson Test of English: 36

Cambridge English (Linguaskill): 140

Or any other qualification which is of equivalent level as determined by the Senate of TAR UC.
