What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Construction will help you become a highly sought-after construction expert who can contribute to all sectors of the construction industry. The Massey University Bachelor of Construction will teach you how to develop and implement best practice building solutions and construction management techniques. Youll learn how to add value to the sustainable development of the built environment, and its use, by integrating sound technical and theoretical knowledge with industry experience, management and interpersonal skills. There is great demand for people with a Bachelor of Construction. Most students are offered employment before they have even completed their qualification. As a construction graduate you will be in line for the excellent starting salaries that are available in the industry. As you progress through your career, salary levels remain higher than for many other sectors. Many graduates are able to have their own business within 10 years of graduation.

Entry requirements

For international students

All students must meet university entrance requirements to be admitted to the University. To be admitted to an undergraduate qualification, you will need a minimum level of academic achievement from school, or another university or tertiary institution.

Specific requirements

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, outside of university admission regulations.

If you do not have a strong background in mathematics, but do have an entrance qualification, then you will likely need to take an additional maths course at foundation level, either before or during the first year of your degree.

International English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS - 6.0 overall and minimum 5.5 in each band
  • TOEFL iBT - Overall score 80, minimum 19 in Writing
  • Cambridge English - B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill.
  • NCEL - Level 4 (Academic)
  • PTE - 50 overall and minimum 42 in each communicative skills
  • LanguageCert - C1 Expert IESOL (LRWS) with PASS and no less than Pass in each skill
