What will I learn?

This programme is designed to enhance your existing knowledge and skills in the construction industry by equipping you with specialised construction management skill sets.It will enable you to perform with a strong sense of responsibility for your own practice and to be capable of effectively collaborating with other construction-related disciplines. During the programme you'll extend your technical, applied and legal knowledge and critically review practice within the construction industry.You'll also learn how to improve the productivity of construction projects and advise on construction methodology through the life cycle of a project. An industry project will allow you to apply your research and critical thinking skills.The Graduate Diploma in Construction Management is a practical option for degree-qualified construction industry professionals (eg architectural technologists and civil engineers) who wish to change pathway within the construction industry.

Entry requirements

For international students

A relevant New Zealand bachelor degree in a construction or engineering related field, for example; BCom (excluding Construction Management), BEng, BEngTech, BArch, BAS, or equivalent.

Alternative requirements

If you show that you have equivalent skills for tertiary study gained through study, work and/or life experience, you may be able to gain alternative entry.

Note: The number of courses you have to complete for this qualification may be reduced where you have relevant credits from previous study, or evidence of similar learning or experience in the workplace.

English language requirements:

IELTS test - Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5

SPEAKING - 5.5
READING - 5.5
WRITING - 5.5
LISTENING - 5.5

TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)

TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 60 or higher (with a writing score of 18)

Cambridge English Qualifications - B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill

Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
