UCOLs NZ Diploma in Arts and Design is suited to people wanting to find their creative voice by selecting one of the following areas of study: Glass Arts – Hot and kiln-based glass Visual Arts – 3D sculpture and painting Design Media – Graphic design, 3D, animation, and publication design Textiles/Fashion Design – Design, pattern drafting, and construction
The programme will introduce you to a range of materials and methods, and enable you to develop your research skills to create unique solutions. Develop your proficiency in the language of art and design as you are introduced to a wide range of skills and practices. The compulsory courses cover drawing, art/design history, and putting your skills into practice to meet a brief. These are designed to extend your chosen elective practice.

To be eligible for entry to the programme, applicants must hold at least one of the following:
English language Requirement: IELTS - Academic: Score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5; TOEFL (iBT) - Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14); Cambridge English Qualifications - B2 with score of 162; no less than 154 in each skill; OET - Minimum Grade C or 200 in all subtests; NZCEL - Level 4 (General or Employment); and Pearson Test of English (Academic) - Score of 42 with no band less than 36.

For international applicants under 20 years of age who do not hold NCEA, International Academic Qualifications Entry Criteria apply (Entry requirements vary from country to country).
