Are you a Sterilising technician wanting to move up the ladder to a leadership role? Then this diploma is ideal for you!

You'll have the key skills and knowledge to lead a team and manage the operational requirements of a sterilisation unit. You'll build on your research and critical thinking skills to develop and implement quality management processes that supports safe patient-centred healthcare in health service organisations.

We offer this course fully online and you can study either full-time or part-time to work in with other commitments.

Entry requirements

For international students

All international applicants must:

  • have NCEA Level 2 with passes in English/Te Reo Maori, or education achievement at least equivalent to NCEA Level 2 and a minimum of 42 credits at level 3;
  • have completed the Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 3) (Open Polytechnic), or New Zealand Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 4), or equivalent;
  • have access to the internet that will enable them to meet the directed learning hours; and
  • be able to demonstrate access to sterilisation technology, either by employment, or the ability to complete work experience, in a relevant business with access to these facility

English Language requirements:

IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0; TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) score of 46 (with a writing score of 14); Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill; OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests; PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36.
