The PGCertMaterialsEng is aimed at those who aspire to a career in materials processing and production, manufacturing, new materials deployment and development disciplines either in a technical or management role. It is best suited to those looking to upskill quickly within their field. The PGCertMaterialsEng develops knowledge, skills and competencies that are used in the materials, manufacturing and energy industries. Materials can no longer be just efficient or economic. Todays world needs materials that work toward the greater goal of clean energy, respect for the environment and native practices, and a low-carbon economy. New Zealand is calling out for specialists who can inspire that change with innovative engineering technology, and professionals with the commercial expertise to bring those technologies to the world. Entry requirements

For international students

Taught 60 points

You must have completed Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field with a minimum GPE of 3.0.

Relevant subjects may include applied science, engineering, information technology, science, or technology.

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
