What will I learn?

This MSc programme provides you with a rigorous training in the study of materials science, and how materials can be harnessed for industrial and scientific progress. You'll work on a project with one of our internationally respected research teams, gaining practical experience to boost your chosen career trajectory. This course is interdisciplinary in nature and involves a combination of theoretical and practical approaches. Youll explore the latest experimental techniques in engineering, examine the characteristics, structure and properties of materials in greater depth, and have the option to choose from modules covering manufacturing processes, nanotechnology and nanomedicine, nanocomposites, polymer synthesis, renewable energy and more.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need to have a good 2:2 or above at undergraduate level in Materials, Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline. IELTS 6.5 overall including 6.0 in Writing, and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking, TOEFL 92 overall including 21 in Writing, 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.
