What will I learn?

Acting for Screen encompasses a range of contemporary performance disciplines, from drama for feature film and presenting for television, through to promotion and influencing on the web and through social media. This course offers the opportunity to develop the skills and attributes to excel in these areas whilst studying amongst a thriving community of diverse creatives.

As a specialist arts university we have the resources and expertise to provide you with the best possible education in acting for screen. You will experience working in a film studio with access to production equipment and rehearsal space. You will also have the opportunity to work with experienced industry professionals, who will provide you with feedback and guidance on your work.

Our Industry Speaker programme includes professionals from across the creative media industries to provide a real-world context for developing your career path.

You will be encouraged to gain professional practice opportunities wherever possible, through working with students on our Filmmaking course or engagement with external productions. We will support you to develop networking skills and professional contacts.

Working in an environment that includes filmmakers, musicians, animators, creative writers, marketeers, fine artists, and designers across a range of disciplines will provide opportunities for exciting collaborations and creative stimulation.

Having acquired advanced performance and communication skills, there are a wide range of career opportunities available to graduates. You could work in the film and television industry as an actor, voice artist or presenter, or in wider areas of the creative industries, such as advertising, marketing, digital communications or public relations.

Entry requirements

For international students

104 and 120 UCAS tariff points from any combination of A Levels/T Level/Extended Diploma/Foundation Diploma. The expected subjects will depend on the course you are applying for. All applicants must have GCSE English Language or Literature at Grade 4/Grade C or above, or English Functional Skills Level 2 at Pass.

Evidence of your English Language ability equivalent to IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.5.
