BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Year 2)

UK

8

What will I learn?

This course is for students who have successfully completed and passed the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma. A Diploma is a practical, work-related course. Your assignments are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and commitment demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career. This qualification is equivalent to two A Levels, which means that when you have finished the course you may choose to go into full-time employment or higher education.

Students study a number of units including:

  • Personal and Professional Development
  • Sociological and Psychology
  • Complementary Therapy

Employers and Higher Education institutions value BTEC Diplomas. If you go straight into employment you could work and train in hospitals, nursing homes and health centres. If you decide to go onto Higher education you could take a Degree in Nursing or a BTEC Higher National in subjects such as Managing Health and Care Services, Social Policy and Health Studies. Kingston College also has a progression agreement with Kingston University, London South Bank University and the University of Greenwich which offers clear information and support when applying to these institutions to study nursing.
