What will I learn?

MSc Finance and Risk: Risk has increasingly become an area which organisations of all sizes are investing more. It covers a wide range of areas but in good times and bad for the industry, risk is a vital consideration to protect businesses and offers many career opportunities.

You will examine and study issues in finance, financial markets, and risk, which have become increasingly important in recent years. You will study the operation of modern business organisations and the role of financial institutions and capital markets in the global economy. You'll learn about statistical techniques that are employed in practice to investigate a firm’s value and asset price. You'll also explore contemporary debates in finance and financial markets. Successful completion of this degree means that you will be exempt from ACCA papers:

  • Applied Knowledge AB
  • Applied Knowledge MA
  • Applied Knowledge FA (previously F1-F4)

Careers:

Graduates move into all sizes of business and across all sectors. Many graduates have launched their own businesses. Investment firms/houses remain very popular as to a wide range of banking sectors.

For international students

A UK Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2) degree. IELTS Overall 6.0 - Listening 5.5, Reading 5.5, Writing 5.5, Speaking 5.5. The standard TOEFL score would be Overall: 78; writing:23, Listening:19, Reading:18 and Speaking:18.
