Overview

The Queen鈥檚 MBA brings together the academic excellence of one of the UK鈥檚 leading research Universities, with the innovative spirit of Belfast. The program is aimed at professionals looking to take the next step in transforming their careers.

The MBA challenges you to develop as a leader with the adaptive skills and lateral, entrepreneurial thinking you need to shape your future. Progressing through the program you integrate core management concepts including strategy, marketing, operations, corporate finance, and accounting, whilst the programme also offers you the chance to deepen your knowledge in the emerging areas of business analytics and social innovation. Through a year-long leadership development module you will develop insight and self-awareness required for effective leadership in a global context.

Global Opportunities

An international study tour is integrated into the program and linked to the Social Innovation and Business Planning, and Business Analytics elective modules. Students will be assessed on the study tour learning as part of the assessments within their chosen elective. Company visits and other activities give immersion in a different working culture and business environment, whilst gaining insights into global business trends.
The most recent tour to San Francisco, one of the most dynamic and innovative business hubs in the world, saw students visit leading firms including, Netflix, Cloudera, Shell, Oracle, Kiva and Walmart, allowing them to network with executives and entrepreneurs to understand how these sectors are developing.

Entry requirements

For international students

Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in any discipline. Applicants with qualifications below 2.1 Honours degree standard may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can demonstrate appropriate relevant professional experience. All applicants will normally have a minimum of 5 years鈥� full-time, post-graduation employment experience, preferably in a management capacity. In certain circumstances 3 years鈥� experience may be considered, on a case-by-case basis. English Language Requirements: Evidence of an IELTS score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required (taken within the last 2 years). TOEFL iBT - 90 with minimum marks as follows: Listening - 17; Reading - 18; Speaking - 20; Writing - 17.
