Designed to provide education and training in cardiovascular, respiratory and sleep sciences, this course features an embedded work-based placement throughout your study, delivering the practical training expected of a healthcare scientist. Following your first placement, which will take place at the end of your first year and covers cardiac physiology, respiratory and sleep science, you may branch out and specialise in either Cardiovascular Physiology or Respiratory Physiology and Sleep Science, gaining experience in the workplace and the essential skills to work as a Healthcare Associate Practitioner. You may then be able to become a practitioner via the newly developing recognition scheme or apply for entry to the Scientist Training Programme. Options for candidates, both during the course and following graduation, are excellent.
