What will I learn?

Dietitians make a vital contribution to people's health and wellbeing. You’ll develop skills in critical evaluation and adaptability to prepare for the changing dynamics of working in health and social care.

As part of this course, you’ll:

Explore the composition of food, the nature of nutrients and their metabolism in the body, nutritional requirements throughout the lifespan and the dietary effects of food on health

Learn how to work Â鶹ԭ´´ service users with acute and chronic disease in hospitals and primary care settings

Prepare to meet the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a healthcare professional

Consider the ethical and legal boundaries arising from exercising a professional duty of care

Develop the professional expertise you’ll need to practice as a dietitian in the UK. You’ll be eligible to register with the HCPC on successful completion of this master’s course.

Entry requirements

For international students

The academic entry requirements for the MSc Dietetics are for a science degree with at least a 2:1 classification which contains sufficient level and depth of biochemistry and human physiology as well as research skills and methodology. We require biochemistry and human physiology to be studied to at least level 4 and an integration and application of these two subject areas to be studied to at least level 5. Research skills are also required to be studied to level 6 including a research project or dissertation. IELTS 7.0 with no skill below 6.5, TOEFL iBT Total of 79 to 89 minimum for Reading (18), Listening (17), Speaking (20) and Writing (17). The minimum English language requirement for entry to study taught postgraduate qualification at Leeds Beckett are English language GCSE grade 4 or above.
