What will I learn?

Our MSc Safeguarding in an International Context course explores the challenges of working across international borders to protect vulnerable children and adults.

This programme is only available as an online distance learning course, which provides high quality learning and teaching combined with flexible study.

Issues such as child abuse, cybercrime, human trafficking, modern slavery and smuggling are high on the global agenda. Protecting vulnerable children and adults from exploitation often involves working collaboratively across international borders with multiple agencies – from the police to the judiciary, customs and excise, and internet service providers.

The aim of this course is to help you become a safeguarding specialist who is socio-politically aware, adaptable and responsive in recognising international safeguarding issues. Its an ideal professional development opportunity for any whos involved in the protection of people in a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency working environment.

Entry requirements

For international students

In order to study at Postgraduate level applicants are expected to have an Honours Degree or equivalent (a portfolio of evidence may be submitted for consideration), as a minimum entry requirement. International students are required to have English at: IELTS 6.5, or equivalent, with no individual component below 6.0, TOEFL iBT including Home Edition 86, with minimum grades of: Reading 15, Listening 15, Speaking 18, and Writing 22.
