About This Course

On the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme at UEA, you’ll combine first-hand clinical experience with academic study. You’ll gain the skills, experience and knowledge required to prepare you to provide high quality nursing practice as a qualified nurse. You’ll develop the skills and knowledge to provide nursing care for adults who have acute and long-term health conditions. We take an inclusive approach to adult nursing to ensure that you can help meet the needs of the UK’s diverse adult population, including caring for people with mental health needs and people with learning disabilities who use adult health services. In addition to learning how to look after adults who are unwell, you will also learn about your own health and wellbeing, and how to support people to develop and maintain healthy behaviours, contributing to their health and wellbeing throughout adulthood. Your programme includes partnership working with other healthcare students, gaining unique insight into other professional perspectives. This will enable you to cultivate the collaborative and adaptable approach that is essential to a successful nursing career. Your studies will be split 50/50 between theory and practice, developing a robust understanding of the evidence base and skills required to provide optimum person-centred care. Your placements cover a range of experiences in acute, primary and community settings with a range of placement providers. With the NHS Constitution at its core, our Adult Nursing degree provides rigorous training, fantastic placement opportunities and is fully approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
