What will I learn?

Learn to establish and maintain effective health and safety practices on this accredited course. On completion, you could choose to top-up your qualification to a master’s degree.

As part of this course, you’ll:

Understand health and safety as an integral part of any organisation

Learn how to establish and maintain a safe working environment for everyone

Develop your knowledge of how different organisations use varying levels of safety procedures and understand how to assess their impact on a company

Investigate organisations in their entirety and gain a broad knowledge of other departments such as marketing, sales and human resources

Explore how departments across a business are affected by health and safety procedures and processes

Enhance your understanding of the technical and human aspects of health and safety and the causes of problems, whether machine malfunctions or human misjudgements

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional. IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses. TOEFL iBT: Total of 79 to 89 minimum for Reading (18), Listening (17), Speaking (20) and Writing (17). The minimum English language requirement for entry to study taught postgraduate qualification at Leeds Beckett are English language GCSE grade 4 or above.
