What will I learn?

With this course, you'll learn how to improve the lives of people locally and globally through preventing and managing health problems. You'll be getting the skills and knowledge you need to help people live longer, healthier and better lives.

Overview

Combing teaching and independent learning, you'll learn everything you need for a management career in public health. You'll study the sector both globally and nationally, thinking about policy and practice while studying the healthcare sector in detail. The course covers everything from monitoring specific diseases and risk factors to improving services and health protection.

Course structure

You'll learn through lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, self-directed learning and e-learning. Plus, you'll do some independent working, taking your studies up a level from undergraduate. The degree is marked through coursework, projects, posters, oral presentations, timed tests and exams.

Entry requirements

For international students

To study this course you need: 2:2 honours degree in health and social care. Generally, the course requirements will be a minimum score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
