What will I learn?

**Examine the science behind the effect of nutrition on athletic performance. Use our dedicated sport performance kitchen and human performance laboratories, working with a range of athletes, including from our Championship rugby team, 10 sports academies, and recreational sports men and women.**Youll be taught in line with the guidelines set by the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr), which sets the standards for all practitioners in the field, so you can be confident youll be industry-ready when you graduate.Develop your skills using specialist dietary software, cooking and producing menus for our recreational and performance athletes across campus. Youll be supported throughout by research-active staff who are experts in their field.Youll be encouraged to develop your practical skills, but also to think critically about existing theories and practices, as well as carrying out your own research to help shape the future of the industry. You could also boost your CV with industry qualifications and work placements opportunities, Â鶹ԭ´´ our sports academy teams or externally.

Entry requirements

For students from Hong Kong

Typical offer is BBC or equivalent. This must include a minimum of two A Levels including one in a Biological Science, Sports Studies or PE subject. Students without a Biological Science will be considered for a foundation year option.

For international students

UCAS tariff points: 120 UCAS tariff points, to include Biology, Sport or PE.

A Levels: BBB or equivalent from at least two full A Levels. This must include Biology, Sport or PE at grade D or above.  

Vocational Awards: DDM in an Extended Diploma in a relevant subject.  

Access: 120 UCAS tariff points in an Access to Higher Education Diploma. This must include nine level 3 credits at Merit or above in Biology.

International Baccalaureate: 120 UCAS tariff points in an IB Diploma, from at least two Highers at H4 or above. This must include Biology or Sport.

Scottish Highers: 120 UCAS tariff points from at least two Highers, to include Biology, Sport or PE at C or above.  You must have completed two years study at Higher Level.

Irish Leaving Certificate: 120 UCAS tariff points from at least two Highers, to include Biology, Sport or PE at H3 or above.

T Level: An overall grade of Distinction, to include grade B or above in the Core component in a Science subject. T Level subjects considered are Animal Care and Management (Science Pathway), Healthcare Science and Science. Health will be considered on an individual basis. 

 

English Language Requirement:

You will need to prove your knowledge of English by passing an English language test from a UKVI approved test provider.

  • IELTS UKVI Academic: 6.0
  • Pearson PTE for UKVI: 59-75 (equivalent to CEFR level B2)
  • Trinity College Student Visa: A pass in the B2 English test (ISE II)
  • Language Cert SELT exams for UKVI: Overall score of between 60 - 74 (CEFR B2 level) in the Language Cert Academic SELT
