Build Healthier Communities

The Human Biology & Health Sciences concentration of Applied Biology focuses on coursework that prepares students for health-related careers and employment within biomedical sciences companies. Select from a “Tools†requirement from Geographic Information Science certificate, Commerce, Data Intelligence, or Forensic Investigation minor making you more employable.

Students majoring in Applied Biology may not major in Biology or Zoology.

Students will take classes in-person at Hamilton and Middletown.

Curriculum and Courses

Students earn a 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification (or equivalent) in their sophomore year and a 40-hour OSHA-Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification in the senior seminar course.

Career Options

In addition to working as human biologists, graduates are prepared to attend professional schools in the health sciences, and for medical, dental, or pharmacy school.

Entry requirements

For international students

Completion of formal secondary education in a pre-university curriculum

Completion must include the awarding of a diploma or the issuance of a leaving certificate or matriculation certificate generally recognized as the educational qualification necessary for admission to higher studies.
