The program offers traditional college courses for students seeking the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant license. The Aircraft Program is accredited by the FAA and is also the only provider of customized instruction for the aerospace industry.
What will I learn?
In Powerplant Mechanics, students specialize in aircraft internal combustion, turbo jet, turbo shaft and turbo prop engines. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the operation, maintenance and repair of reciprocating and turbine aircraft engines and their associated systems. Systems training includes lubrication, carburetion, ignition, electrical, supercharging, induction, exhaust and propellers.
What can I do with this course of study?
Pursue various jobs within the Aircraft industry. Airframe and Powerplant technician, aircraft electrician, aircraft avionics technician, aircraft fuel systems technician.
