B.A. Film and Digital Media - International Film Studies

USA

What will I learn?

Loyola's interdisciplinary, film and digital media major focuses on the critical analysis, production, and use of film and digital media. Students explore the migration of communication and entertainment media across platforms, from film screens, to mobile devices, to video games.

Located in one of the largest media markets in the world, Loyola’s Film and Digital Media program offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience working with a variety of filmmakers, digital media producers, and scholars. Screenwriters, new-media artists, and other professionals in the industry, join with the full-time faculty to help students learn the latest techniques and theory. Students are also within easy reach of media companies for internships and hands-on experience and ultimately job opportunities.

Students will:

  • Articulate contemporary theories and research methods for interpretation of diverse forms of media technology.
  • Critique the role of media in society - historically, socially, and culturally.
  • Analyze theory and hands-on work in the review of film and digital media.
