What will I learn?

The department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Coursework for these programs is listed below. The department also offers a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Finance, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics, and (jointly with the Department of Education) a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Secondary Education.

Math 424 - Complex Variables (Spring)

Four upper-level mathematics electives, including one course that is a second course in some field (e.g. Abstract Algebra II, Probability and Statistics II, Introductory Analysis II)

B.S. in Mathematics

Students pursuing the B.S. in Mathematics take the following additional courses:

PHYS 216 - Physics II

Two computer science courses chosen from among: CSC 113, 123, 124, 212, 223

Entry requirements

For international students

International students applying to Catholic University must have successfully completed a university preparatory course of study at a secondary school (a minimum of 12 years of primary and secondary school training comprising the equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma).

Acceptable Test Scores

TOEFL - 80 Internet (should have at least 20 out of 30 in each category); 150 Paper; 213 Computer.

IELTS - 6.5 (individual test module scores are also reviewed in addition to the overall score to ensure proficiency)

PTE - 58

Application deadline for Fall semester (Sept. to Dec.): Nov. 1 - Early Action and Early Decision I application deadline; Feb. 1 - Regular Decision and Early Decision II application deadline.
