What will I learn?

La Verne’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration Program links business administration theory with work experience and industry practices to set students up for successful careers. The program focus on critical thinking and interpersonal skills, teaching students to work in group settings. Ethics is also paramount, with emphasis on the impact of cultural differences on business practices.

To provide maximum convenience and flexibility, the program is offered online and is available at several locations throughout California, including Bakersfield, Burbank, College of the Canyons, Crafton Hills Community College, Irvine, Mt. San Antonio College, Ontario, Oxnard, Rio Hondo Community College, and Victorville, as well as at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC).

Business Administration Courses and Concentrations

The B.A. in Business Administration consists of 52 semester hours. Students must complete 12 semester hours of prerequisites, 32 semester hours of core requirements, and 8 semester hours of electives. They can also choose a concentration from the following options:

Business Finance Concentration

This concentration prepares students for successful careers in the corporate finance, industrial, or bank management fields.

Marketing Concentration

This concentration examines the tools and techniques used to determine the needs of individuals or segments of society to provide the most effective means of informing customers of the availability of goods and services and to deliver such goods and services.

Business Management Concentration

This concentration studies theoretical foundations for understanding how an organization is affected by its environment and how employees are motivated to accomplish organizational goals. It also focuses on the practical skills necessary for attracting, encouraging, and retaining human resources and the interpersonal skills needed for business administration and management.

Information Technology Concentration

This concentration prepares students for successful careers in Information Systems/Information Technology. It also provides an overview and trend analysis for decision making.

Students must have official high school transcripts.

TOEFL - 80 iBT or higher, 550 pBT or higher; IELTS - 6.5 overall band score or higher; SAT - 460 or higher on the evidence-based reading and writing section of the SAT; ACT - 19 or higher on the English section of the ACT; ELS - Satisfactory completion of ELS 112; Duolingo English Test 105 or higher; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) - Advanced score of 176 or higher; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) Score of 53 or higher.
