What will I learn?

In the elementary teacher preparation program, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to teach all subjects in kindergarten through fifth grade and a specific subject area in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Key elements include a strong foundation in all content areas plus additional depth in a selected teaching major, courses on the most effective teaching practices and a full-year, guided teaching internship in a public school after completion of the bachelor's degree.

Entry requirements

For international students

MSU strongly encourages a college preparatory curriculum in secondary school.

Minimum English requirements

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based test: score of 79 with no sub score below 17; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Regular admission: Score of 6.5 or higher; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Minimum score of 53; minimum sub score requirement of 48.

Application submission deadline: Regular Admission: February 1.
