A bachelor's degree in mathematics provides students with a strong mathematical foundation in problem solving and mathematical proof. Senior-level courses require extensive theoretical mathematics necessary for graduate work in multiple fields, applications to the education field and/or work with applications to industry.
A Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics requires more of a foreign language competency. A Bachelor of Science degree requires science proficiency beyond that established by the college. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in mathematics may also complete this major through Lyman Briggs College.
