What will I learn?

Nursing is an essential part of the health care team, encompassing health promotion, illness prevention and care provision to people of all ages, in various health care and community settings. Knowledge and experience gained from a BSN program prepares nurses to provide exceptional care in the challenging health care environment and offers more opportunities for employment and advancement, as well as higher pay. Career Paths There is a critical need for nurses in Oklahoma and across the country. BSN prepared nurses can work in acute care facilities as well as community settings such as schools, health departments or home health. BSN graduates are prepared to pursue advanced practice degrees to become nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists and clinical nurse leaders. Six hundred hours of clinical experience will be gained through partnership with medical facilities such as Stillwater Medical Center, OSU Medical Center-Tulsa and more as the program expands. Simulation Lab The university is renovating space on campus to create a new, fully equipped simulation lab for the program, targeted for completion in 2024. Career Readiness Upon completion of the program, students will have met all program/course requirements to sit for the NCLEX exam.

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
