Troy University’s music industry degree is designed to provide you with a solid foundation of time-tested business practices, along with changing technology trends combined with in-depth musical study. All your classes are taught by highly skilled faculty within the John M. Long School of Music who are world-class teachers, scholars, conductors, composers and performers.

Throughout your music industry classes at Troy University you will receive instruction in areas including song writing, recording studios, music technologies, studio repair, marketing of recorded music, arts management and concert producing. Within your courses, you will learn more about diverse musical traditions from around the globe and gain an understanding of the practices and inter-relationships within the music industry including the areas of retail, recording, distribution, legal aspects, publishing media and employment. You will also study computer-based applications currently used in the music industry for audio production including MIDI sequencing, multi-track recording, audio editing and music notation.

Applicants must have official copy of transcripts or results for education years 10-12 and diploma.

English proficiency minimums: IELTS Academic: 5.5 overall bands; TOEFL Internet based: 60 total; TOEFL Computer based: 173 total; TOEFL Paper based: 500 total; Pearson Test of English: 46; Duolingo minimum score of 48.

Application deadline: Fall - June 1; Spring - November 1.
