The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) is available for experienced teachers who already hold a teaching license and a master’s degree and wish to further broaden their knowledge of mathematics education. Students select from a variety of course offerings in mathematics education that are based on current research and “best practices” pedagogies. Courses that assist students in becoming leaders, conducting research in classrooms, and developing curriculum are available. Students may also select to take more mathematics in order to deepen and extend their content knowledge.
