What will I learn?

As a graduate of the AGACNP specialty, you will be prepared as a beginning-level advanced practice provider of care for acutely ill adults with multiple and complex problems. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to take an AGACNP national board certification examination. To qualify for entry into the AGACNP Graduate Certificate program, you must have a degree in nursing as an advanced practice nurse and experience in an acute care setting.

The College of Nursing at the University of Arizona offers a variety of programs at the graduate level. Programs are available for students pursuing a first degree in nursing, as well as students interested in advancing in the professional as leaders, advanced practice nurses, and nurse researchers.

For international students

U.S. Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited university/college or a final degree awarded from a comparable institute of higher education as evaluated under the University of Arizona

Acceptable English Proficiency credentials:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15). Individual MyBest scores must also be dated within 2 years of the enrollment term to be considered valid.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
Pearson PTE Academic - minimum score of 60
Graduate English Language Endorsement from the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL)
CEPT Full Academic test - offered by our Center for English as a Second Language (CESL), minimum Total score of 110.

Admissions Deadlines

Students are admitted to the certificate program once per year for an August start. Applications open in Mid-March with deadlines in Mid-June.
