The Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology (FinTech) examines how information technology has revolutionized the financial services industry. Topics covered include Python, algorithmic trading, predictive behavioral analysis, data-driven decision-making, mobile-only services, robo-advisors, machine learning, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies, Blockchain, RegTech, InsureTech, innovations in lending, and cybersecurity. Elective options allow you to gain focused knowledge of business forecasting, applying credit risk models, or information and big data security. Case studies and guest lectures are emphasized.
This program is designed for those who have completed prior undergraduate or graduate finance coursework. If you do not meet the prerequisite, you should begin with the Finance certificate.
This certificate program is designed to be completed part-time in one semester on campus. You can continue to build on your financial knowledge by stacking the Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology with our Graduate Certificates in Data Analytics, Data Management, or Finance. If you apply to the MS in Finance (MSF) degree program or another graduate business degree program, you may be able to apply the courses in this certificate program to reduce the time it will take to complete your master’s degree.

Students enrolling in graduate programs must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or an equivalent degree granted by an institution in another country (as determined by the Office of Graduate Admission).
English language requirements
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Suffolk welcomes both the TOEFL iBT and TOEFL Essentials. To be considered for full admission, a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80, with no sub-score lower than 17, or a minimal TOEFL Essentials overall band score of 8.5, with no subsection below 8, is required; International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum score of 6.5 (with no sub-score below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission. PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English). A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
