What will I learn?

The Graduate Certificate in Public Personnel Management is a five-course (15 credit hours) curriculum designed to enhance career opportunities for human resources staff members, including those changing from entry-level, non-professional, professional, or technical roles to managerial roles. It is appropriate for most public (state, municipal, township, county, school district) and nonprofit (health, social services, arts) agencies.

Certificate Requirements: 15 hours

Required Courses: 9 hours

PLSC 510 - Public Administration Concepts 3 hrs
PLSC 515 - Public and Nonprofit Personnel Administration 3 hrs

Restricted Electives: 6 hours

Entry requirements

For international students

A four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution. In addition, a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program, is required for full admission. Applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements may be considered for conditional admission.

Applicants must also meet the following program requirements:

An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or 3.25 in the last half of the undergraduate program

TOEFL: 79 iBT

IELTS: 6.5

Pearson English Language Test (PTE): 53
Michigan English Test (MET): 57
