Two graduate program options plus two Joint Degree Programs are offered at The Catholic University of America School of Architecture and Planning:
PATH A: Master of Architecture (2 years) program
PATH B: Master of Architecture (3 years) program
PATH C: Master of Architecture (2 years) and Master of Science in Net Zero Design
PATH C: Master of Architecture (3 years) and Master of Science in Net Zero Design
PATH A - The “Path A” program is an advanced standing track designed for individuals who possess an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree. This program connects directly with the Catholic University of America B.S. in Architecture degree and similar degrees offered at other institutions. This is a four-semester degree program leading to the NAAB-accredited M. ARCH degree. (60 credit hours)
PATH B - This program is designed specifically for individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree in an area other than architecture. This seven-semester program provides an introduction to the fundamentals of architectural design and representation, technologies, history, and theory, as well as professional practice. The program provides an efficient track toward the NAAB-accredited M. ARCH degree. (111 credit hours)
Advanced Placement in the Path B Program: Applicants who possess a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design, or similar degree, are evaluated for placement and may receive advanced placement in the Path B program based upon their portfolios and prior coursework.
PATH C - Master of Architecture + Master of Science in Net Zero Design
This program is designed for students interested in obtaining a dual degree in Master of Science in Net Zero Design (MSNZD) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch). This dual degree has an additional 18 credit course load for the second Master’s degree. (MArch + 18 credit hours)
Within the graduate program, the school also offers four areas of concentration for more focused specialization. Students enrolled in the Master of Architecture program, as well as those in the Master of Architectural Studies program, pursue a concentration in one of four areas including Sacred Space/Cultural Studies, Technology and Media in Architecture and Interiors, Urban Practice, and Classical Architecture and Urbanism.

Applicants for graduate programs who hold undergraduate degrees from foreign institutions of higher education must provide, as part of the application process, a degree equivalency evaluation from a reputable credentials evaluation service recognized by The University. This ensures that applications are given full consideration by University officials who may not be familiar with the education program of that specific institution.

TOEFL - 80 Internet (should have at least 20 out of 30 in each category); 550 Paper; 213 Computer.
IELTS - varies by program, generally around 6.5
