Students who pursue the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner MS(N) will:
Fill the immense need for psychiatric providers in the U.S. and beyond;
Learn to provide mental health care across the lifespan — for adults, children, adolescents and their families;
Be eligible for advanced practice nurse certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Program structure
This program is blended: You may complete all course work online but an on-campus visit is required once per year.
Courses are semester-based. How long it takes to complete the program depends on your academic progress so far. If you want to study part time, the program will most likely take you three years to complete.

Seamless BSN-to-DNP with an MS(N) option
This MS(N) program makes it easy for you to continue your education and earn your DNP if you choose. With this program, you have the opportunity to sit for your APRN certification and start earning more while you’re starting your DNP course work. Courses have a focus on supporting you as you transition to practicing as an APRN.

Completed baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate nursing course work.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA requirements for their BSN also may provide additional evidence documenting examples of outstanding professional leadership, practice and/or scholarship for special consideration.
If English is not your native language, please submit a TOEFL score of at least 100 (internet-based test), an IELTS score of at least 7, a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of at least 66 or a Cambridge C1 Advanced score of at least 190.
