What will I learn?

Pediatric primary care nurse practitioners focus on health promotion, disease prevention and management of acute and chronic conditions in pediatric offices as well as school, community, urgent care and specialty settings. Students who pursue the pediatric primary care nurse practitioner post-master's certificate at Saint Louis University will be prepared to provide care to patients from birth through the age of 21. At Saint Louis University, we partner with our students on clinical placement. Besides being paired with a faculty mentor with expertise in students' desired field of study, SLU helps students obtain preceptors for their clinical rotations. For international students

Most successful applicants have an undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 or better.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Demonstrate English language proficiency. Some examples of demonstrated English language proficiency include minimum score requirements for the following standardized tests:

  • Paper-based TOEFL: 550
  • Internet-based TOEFL: 80
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • PTE: 54

Academic records, in English translation, of students who have undertaken postsecondary studies outside the United States must include the courses taken and/or lectures attended, practical laboratory work, the maximum and minimum grades attainable, the grades earned or the results of all end-of-term examinations, and any honors or degrees received. WES and ECE transcripts are accepted.

Application and Assistantship Deadlines

Students should apply for the fall semester by August 6, spring semester by January 7.
