Eligibility & selection criteria:
For the 2022 competition, in order to be eligible for the scholarship and to apply through Waterloo, the candidate must:
Identify as a woman
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Be a graduate of an engineering program at Waterloo and have completed her bachelor's degree in December 2021, or be in the process of completing it in May or August 2022
Be enrolled, or in the process of enrolling, in a graduate studies program in engineering (master’s or PhD) to begin the year after receiving her bachelor’s degree*.
To be selected to receive the Poly-technique Montréal Order of the White Rose scholarship, the candidate must demonstrate outstanding merit in the following three areas:
academic record (30%)
technical achievements (35%)
social commitments (35%)
This CAN $30,000 scholarship is awarded annually by the Poly-technique administration to a woman engineering student who wishes to enrol in graduate studies in engineering (master’s or PhD) at the institution of her choice, in Canada or elsewhere in the world.

In order to apply, applicants must email the following documents to the Co-ordinator, Graduate Financial Aid and Awards in GSPA by August 1 each year (or the following business day if the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday).
the identification form (PDF)
a letter of motivation (max. 1 page)
a curriculum vitae
a detailed description of achievements and social engagements (max. 2 pages)
a letter supporting your application written by someone in authority (professor, department, director, etc.)
any other document deemed relevant. (max. 2 pages)
The following documents will be supplied by GSPA if nominated by Waterloo and do not need to be included in the application package:
an official proof of enrolment in a graduate studies program (master’s or PhD)
the most recent official transcript
a letter of support signed by the director of your home institution
