Other eligibility requirements

  • One Scholarship will be available annually for a period of up to one year and will be of the value of up to NZ $8,000.
  • Payment and tenure will be pro-rated for part-time study.
  • To be eligible for Scholarship consideration, an applicant must be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time or part-time in any year of a Bachelor of Music (BMus) or BMus conjoint degree in the School of Music at Waipapa Taumata Rau,
  • University of Auckland. A grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 5.00 (4.50 for Maori or Pacific candidates) is required for Scholarship consideration

Selection basis

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence
  • Music excellence
  • Financial need/hardship

Selection criteria

  • Application is made to the Scholarships Office
  • A Selection Committee assesses the applications
  • The Scholarship is awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee
  • The basis of selection will be academic achievement, the applicant’s musical potential and financial need as assessed by a personal statement and the criteria
