Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarships applicants must:

be assessed as international for fee purposes
hold an offer for an eligible Master’s degree programme at the University s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year
already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second class UK honours degree or above

Applicants domiciled in the following countries are not eligible to apply for VCGS awards as the University offers specific schemes for these countries: Canada, China, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, the USA, Vietnam, Mexico, Central America* and South America** and any member state of the European Union. Applicants domiciled in all other countries are eligible.

*Central America - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama

**South America - Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.
