SUNY New Paltz will select two first-year undergraduate international students starting in Fall semesters to receive an annual, renewable scholarship to cover 50% of their tuition.
Who is Eligible?
First-year undergraduate international applicants of any major
An international applicant is an individual who holds citizenship in a country outside the United States and who does not also possess US citizenship or permanent residency.
Must meet the admissions criteria & adhere to the deadlines of SUNY New Paltz
Must satisfy the SUNY New Paltz English proficiency requirement
Must demonstrate financial resources for the remaining expenses not covered by the scholarship
Must have demonstrated interest & initiative in promoting intercultural learning & exchange

If you are accepted to SUNY New Paltz, please take the following steps to apply for the #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship:
Log into your application portal
Click the International tab.
Scroll to the centre of the page and you will see “Upload #YouAreWelcome Essay”.
Click “Choose File” and you will be prompted to upload your document.
Click “Submit” and you have applied for the #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship.

Submit a 500-1000 word essay describing your leadership skills in your school or community, and how you plan to continue applying your leadership skills at SUNY New Paltz.
